Nuestra Señora del Carmen is the patron of all fisherman, sailors and mariners. She is devoutly and enthusiastically celebrated on the 16th of July not only in Ensenada, but in many other ports of Mexico and Europe. Many sailor' and fishermans' daughters are given her name "Carmen", as well as hospitals, naval schools and marine societies. Her statute overlooks the marina, next to the travellift dock.
